11. Housing for people with disabilities:

Increase the number of people with a disability in stable, supported community accommodation to 7,000 by 2020

Key Measure

Explanatory Comments

Stable supported community accommodation exists in both the homes of people with disability as well as other community based supported accommodation arrangements. As at 30 June 2016, there were 5,284 people with disability in stable supported accommodation. This is an increase of 2,004 since the baseline year of 2003-04.

From 2003-04 to 2015-16, the average annual growth rate was 4.05%. To achieve the target an average annual growth rate of 7.28% is required from 2015-16 to 2019-20.

The decrease between 2013-14 and 2014-15 is due to a number of organisations not meeting their 2014-15 Disability Services National Minimum Data Set (DS NMDS) reporting requirements. In 2011-12 and 2012-13 anomalies in reporting were also identified which resulted in a number of clients not being reported.

Data for 2015-16 is preliminary (indicative) data and subject to change.
