South Australia’s Strategic Plan is comprised of 100 targets. These targets are specific and measurable and enable us to measure our progress towards achieving the Plan’s visions and goals.

Target:

30. Boards and committees:

Increase the number of women on all State Government boards and committees to 50% on average by 2014, and maintain thereafter by ensuring that 50% of women are appointed, on average, each quarter

Explanatory Comments

The percentage of women on South Australian Government boards and committees increased from 33.6% in January 2004 (the baseline) to 48.8% in November 2014.  This was the highest percentage of women on boards and committees since the introduction of South Australia’s Strategic Plan.

Progress was below the trajectory required to achieve the target by the end of 2014 and was not achieved. As at April 2016, the percentage of women on South Australian Government boards and committees is 47.7%.
