54. Learning or earning:

Increase the proportion of 15-24 year olds engaged full-time in school, post-school education, training or employment (or combination thereof) to 85% by 2020

Explanatory Comments

The proportion of young people in South Australia aged 15 to 24 years effectively engaged in learning or earning was 78.3% in June 2003 (the baseline year) which was higher than the 76.5% recorded in October 2017.

Since June 2003 the percentage of young people learning or earning has generally been below 80.0%, fluctuating between a low of 76.4% in September 2017 and a high of 80.4% in September 2008.
