South Australia’s Strategic Plan is comprised of 100 targets. These targets are specific and measurable and enable us to measure our progress towards achieving the Plan’s visions and goals.

Each target is reported on through this section of the website. Data is analysed and uploaded as it becomes available.

73. Recycled stormwater:

South Australia has the system capacity to harvest up to 35 GL of stormwater per annum by 2025

Key Measure

Explanatory Comments

In 2009 (the baseline year), South Australia’s recycled stormwater harvesting capacity was 5.8 gigalitres (GL) per year, and 22.7 GL by June 2014.  While there has been no additional increase since, further stormwater harvesting and reuse projects are in progress which when completed will further increase the total stormwater harvesting capacity.

Reporting periods are financial years. Stormwater harvesting capacity for 2015/16 is therefore indicative (due to data request being March 2016).

This target measures the capacity to harvest stormwater, which does not reflect the amount being reused on an annual basis.
