Explanatory Comments

The proportion of 15 to 19 year old South Australians who have completed the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) or comparable senior secondary qualification increased from 62.6% in 2005 (the baseline year) to 89.1% in 2015, an improvement of 26.5 percentage points.

Significant improvement has been made since 2011 up to 2015 with a 13.9 percentage point increase over the period. The SACE is undertaken in two stages, Stage 1 (which most students do in Year 11) and Stage 2 (which most students do in Year 12).
