Explanatory Comments

In 2016 34,084 international students enrolled to study in South Australia, an increase of 6.36% from the previous 12 month period. 

The latest statistics (as at YTD October 2017) indicate SA has achieved a new record of international student enrolments of 34,898, or 1,335 more enrolments than the equivalent period in 2010 when the all-time high was achieved. International Education was SA’s 2nd largest export; and contributed $1.468b into the SA economy in the 2016-17 financial year.


NOTE: Enrolment data is derived from the Commonwealth Provider Registration and International Student Management System (PRISMS) database. PRISMS is constantly updated, with slight variations in enrolment data across different extract dates.
